“Why are you here, Grandpa?”
“Well, I–“
“Did you think that you and I were having lunch today?”
“Well, I–“
“It’s tomorrow, Grandpa, not today. It’s too bad you came all this way. Did you get a ride?”
“No, I took the bus.”
“The next bus should be here in about fifteen minutes. Would you like me to wait with you at the stop? I’ll just let Angie know.”
“But–“
“It’s no trouble, Grandpa.”
Angie bustled in. “Hello, Stan.”
“You two know each other?”
“Yes. We’re old friends, aren’t we, Stan. Let’s head over to Sizzler’s.”

Sounds like Grandpa has a social life and one that sizzles. I like the warm humour.

Dear Adele,
Oops. It seems Grandpa has a little spark left in the old furnace. 😉 See you tomorrow for lunch, granddaughter. Nicely done.

One of my favorite stories by you to date. Grandpa doesn’t tell his grandchildren everything! I’m happy for him and Angie.
