Meeting Martina’s Parents

“Still nervous about meeting them?” Martina asked Laird as they took a shortcut through the shopping mall to her parents’ condo building.

“Yes,” he admitted.

She gently squeezed his hand.  “Don’t be.  They’re dying to meet you, remember?”

He nodded.

Fifteen minutes later, they stood outside of the flat.  Martina rang the bell.

The door opened and her father stood there.  “Hello, Dad.”

“Hello, Honey.”  They hugged.

“Hello, Laird.”  He shook his hand warmly.

“Hello, Sir.”

“Come in.”

They went inside.

After hugging Martina, Mrs. Shaw turned to Laird. “Welcome.”

“Thank you.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet my daughter’s fiancé.
