Mount Up With Wings

But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint – Isaiah 40:31, NKJV

The eagle, especially the American bald eagle is a beautiful and majestic bird, the symbol of great strength. The eagle has mastered the art of flying. It’s treat to see them soaring in the skies with their massive wings outstretched. The eagle is fearless. I’ve seen them prey on foxes, snakes and even dogs.

Isaiah tells us that when we wait on the Lord, we will find new strength which can come only from Him. We will lift ourselves up much like the eagles. God will give us the strength to rise above whatever situations or trials or tribulations beset us. We become strong when we don’t rush ahead of Him but wait instead, trusting in His timing which is always perfect.

And we keep moving as we wait on the Lord. We run and we walk and because of Him, we will not become weary or faint.
