Teen Talk & Humbert Humbert

“How was your weekend, Professor Moore?”

“It was fine.  Last night I watched A lexicon of Teenagers on BBC.  It explained the confusing slangs they use.  How was your weekend?”

“I tried to read Lolita but I couldn’t get through it. The words painted a picture of a pervert.”

“You mean Humbert Humbert?”

“Yes.  Imagine a grown man in love with a 12-year old girl.”

“He was sexually obsessed with prepubescent girls he called nymphets.”

“Some people see him as an unlikely tragic hero.”
