Matt stared at Gina, stunned. They were in the children’s library. She had asked him to meet her there and while Cameron was sitting at one of the tables, reading a book, they spoke. She had just told Matt that he could have his divorce.
“It’s what you want, isn’t it?” she muttered resentfully.
“Yes, but, why are you suddenly agreeing to it?”
“Does it matter? Just be thankful that I am.”
“I am.”
That night, she called her father. “I agreed to the divorce.”
“A wise decision, Gina.”
“It was either that or…”
“I tell Matt what you did.”

That leaves an obvious question… what has she been up to? It can’t be good.

Aside from doing things which have led to her husband to file for a divorce, she once left their son in a hot car. Matt doesn’t know about it but her father does.

Oops! Sounds as if Gina was no angel, either!

Most likely, that’s where she got some of her bad traits from. Am happy you like the story, Bear.

Interesting place to agree to agree. Not at all certain about dear old dad. Well done.

Yes, it was an interesting place to have such a talk. He’s not your typical father. Thanks, Bill.

An unexpected twist at the end. Gina wouldn’t have wanted to risk losing custody of the kids if she’d fought the divorce and her father had spilled the beans.

I have written about Gina and her father before when he threatened to spill the beans when she refused to let Cameron see his father whom he loved spending time with. You’re right. Gina couldn’t risk losing custody of him so she agreed to the divorce.

Oh, I wasn’t expecting that, nor she I imagine!

This wasn’t a surprise for her. Her father threatened to spill the beans and that’s why she agreed to give Matt the divorce.

Why would her father blackmail her to leave her husband? There’s a lot more to this than can be told in 100 words.

The ending wasn’t what I expected but I love it anyway. It leaves us with a desire to know more.

I’m happy you loved the story in spite of its ending. There was a time when on the News, when it seemed that too often kids were being left inside hot cars. You’re right, it is outrageous, but sadly, it happens. Thanks, Isadora. You have yourself a wonderful weekend too 🙂
