One Out of Many

A long time ago, I was a mudlark.  After running away from the horrid orphanage, I found myself on the muddy shores of the Thames where I scavenged for things to sell.  Then, one day, I met a childless couple who wanted to adopt many children.  They ended up adopting one–me.
