Blogs, Dresses and Wedding Plans

Felt and bobbles.”

Mats looked at Abi. “Pardon me?”

“It’s a topic I’m thinking posting on my blog–felt hats vs bobble hats. I’m curious to see which most women prefer.”

“Why would that be an interesting topic?”

“Well, women are interested in fashion and I thought it would be fun to do a post on hats. I personally prefer felt hats because they’re versatile. You can wear in any season and temperature. Bobble hats are good for winter only.”

“I read that the hats with bobbles were worn by French soldiers so they wouldn’t bang their heads on the low ceilings of the ship and get hurt while out at sea when the waters got rough.”

“Really? I didn’t know that. I will, of course, include that bit of information in my post. Bobbles are fashionable and functional.”

“I guess you can say that.”

“I still prefer felt hats, though. They look more stylish.”

“This is all very interesting but I thought your blog was going to be about domestic violence, spousal abuse, gender violence, etc.”

“I know. Maybe I’ll create a new blog or make this one about different things but if I do that I will need to change the name. I have to think about this some more.”

“I’m sure you’ll figure something out.”

“I’ll have to. I don’t want to have two blogs. That will take up too much of my time and I have other more important things to do.”

“Such as?”

“Planning our wedding.”

“When would you like the wedding to be?”

“Next year in the spring.”

“So, March, April or May?”

“May because it’s still a bit cold in March and it’s rainy in April. Everything starts to bloom in May.”

“So, it will be a May wedding.”

“Yes. Mid-May would be nice.”

“All right.”

“I bought a bride magazine and have been going through it plus looking online for wedding gowns. There are 8 wedding styles and they are the Ball gown, the Mermaid gown, the Trumpet, the Sheath, the A-line, the Tea-length, the Fit-and-flare and the Column.”

“The Trumpet?”

“It’s similar to the Mermaid but it gradually gets wider at the lower thigh and it gives you a little more freedom to move around while still creating that dramatic look.”

“So, have you figured out which style works for you?”

“The Fit-and-flare wedding dress because it will give me plenty of freedom to walk, sit, and dance. And it’s flattering on different body types.”

“That’s sounds good, although, I know that you will look stunning in anything.”

She smiled. “Thanks.”

“Now, we’ve decided when we want to get married, any thoughts about where you would like us to get married?

“How about one of those places where you can have both the ceremony and the reception?”

“Sure. I’ll look into it.”

“And I have to figure out who my bridesmaids will be and what kind of dresses they will be wearing.”

“Not to mention, the number of guests, the invitations and the menu.”

“And your tuxedo and best man.”

“And our honeymoon.”

“Where would you like to go for our honeymoon?” she asked.

“I was thinking somewhere tropical where I get to see you in a bikini.”

“And I’d like to see you in one of those Boxer Shorts Trunks.”

“Yes. Especially when you come out of the water and its clinging to you in all of the right places.”

“Hmm.” He walked over to her and taking her in his arms, he murmured. “I bet you would like to me out of them too.”

She smiled as she wrapped her arms around his waist. “You bet,” she murmured.

He lowered his head and kissed her. They kissed for several minutes before he scooped her up and took her to his room.
