As a child, Burçin Mutlu-Pakdil used to gaze at the night sky and dream of reaching the stars. Driven by the desire to study the universe, she left her home to pursue an education in Physics. Her parents were criticized for letting her move away for her education because young women weren’t supposed to live away from the family.
Despite these attitudes and stereotypes, she pursued her dream and became an astrophysicist which put her closer to reaching those stars. And she did when she discovered a rare galaxy nicknamed Burçin galaxy.

How lovely to learn about this courageous woman. I always say if G-d didn’t expect women to use their talents he wouldn’t have given them to them, along with dreams and aspirations. Some will never get that…sadly. Good story.

Yes, it was a treat learning about her and all that she has accomplished in spite of stereotypes and lack of support and encouragement from some. And you’re right.
