On a moonless night, mist like an eerie intruder, descended upon the woods as a thick white blanket, enshrouding the trees which silently protested.

Interesting to think that the trees would protest it! Might explain the sense of menace in the woods upon a misty night … 😉

Yes, that’s it exactly. The mist gives the woods a menacing feel and look. I wouldn’t want to be caught anywhere near there 🙂

I bet the Ents say that it is none of any human’s business to trespass in the woods come misty times because THOSE are the hours for other things to congregate. 😉

I bet you’re right about the Ents, Na’ama 🙂 They don’t want any humans traipsing about.

My understanding is that they believe there’s a time and place for everyone, and that humans had gotten absolutely bullish in how they ignore propriety. Some (respectful) human visitation is fine, but the kind of bumbling and violence humankind has done onto trees is NOT what the Ents have in mind … 😉

I totally agree with you. Nature should be enjoyed and treated with care and appreciation. Often times, it isn’t.

Nothing like a mist in a woods to give a spooky feel!

You would never find me in the woods especially when there’s a mist. Spooky indeed!
