Around We Go…

From an early age, Valentina Tereshkova developed an interest in parachute jumping which led to her selection as a cosmonaut and later to be trained for a special woman-in-space program.  In 1963, Valentina became the first woman to travel into space and orbit the earth 48 times aboard Vostok 6.
