Her daughter had an unclean spirit so she went to Jesus for help.
At first, Jesus didn’t respond to her cries, but she appealed to His mercy. When He told her that it wasn’t good to take children’s bread and give it to the dogs, she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
Moved by this mother’s tenacious faith, Jesus healed her daughter.

One of my favorite passages in the gospels! How Jesus praised her faith! One of the very few.

Yes, He praised her faith. It’s the kind of unwavering faith which He likes. It doesn’t give up. As soon as I saw the word, Tenacious, I thought of this Gentile woman.

It shows humility, focus and love. Some people would have felt insulted by the words of Jesus, but all she wanted was healing for her daughter. She didn’t feel she had the luxury of feeling insulted. That’s love in action.

Yes, it does. The woman didn’t allow anything to discourage her. Jesus may have come across as not wanting to help her and her daughter but I think this interaction between them was for a very good reason. Perhaps He wanted to show that this is the kind of faith He would like to see among His own people and that no one, who comes to Him in faith will be turned away, even though the disciples wanted Him to send her away.
