When I look at the night sky and see the work of Your fingers—the moon and the stars You have set in place—what are mortals that You should think of us, mere humans that You should care for us? (Psalm 8:3, 4)
When I think of how God made the first two humans I feel special. He formed the man first out of the earth, carefully and tenderly putting all the parts together. He breathed air into his nostrils and the man came to life.
Out of the man God created a woman. He put the man, Adam to sleep. He took one of his ribs and closed up the place where He took it. Then, God made a woman from the rib and took her to Adam.
God created humans with His hands. With the other creation, He spoke and the birds, animals, fish, trees, plants and everything came to life. I and the rest of the human race were fearfully and wonderfully made. We were created in God’s image. We were patterned after Him.
When I consider all the incredible things God created I too cannot imagine why I am so special to Him. When sin came into the world, God left Heaven and came down to earth to save us. He died on the cross for us. That is how much we meant to Him. He still cares very deeply for us and will for all eternity.
“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed” (Psalm 139:16).
