Overhead the clouds are gathering with threat of a storm. They spread across the sky. When the they are full, they will pour out the rain upon the earth. Many of us like these kinds of storms. We like to watch the spectacular display of God’s majesty as the lightning flashes and the thunder crashes.
There are other kinds of storms, however, which roll into our lives. Yet, we need not be afraid of or be overcome by them. Instead, we stand on the Rock who is our Lord, our mighty Fortress and we carry His Word which is His light. We are never alone in the storm. God is right there with us. We can stand firmly on His promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us and that He will guide us through what ever comes our way.
Stand firm. The Lord, He is your foundation. He cannot be moved even if everything around you shifts out of place. Keep your your eyes fixed on Him and your feet firmly planted in His Word.
He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved – Psalm 62:6, NKJV.
