I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together (Psalm 34:1-3).
What do you do when you feel as if things are falling apart? Feeling like you have no control over your life can be very scary. What do you do? What if you responded in a way no one would expect? What if you praised God? It’s easy to praise Him when things are going well but when they are not, praising Him can be difficult. This is why this kind of praise is a sacrifice. You have to give up something you feel you don’t have in you to give but you are encouraged to praise the Lord and to give thanks to his name in the midst of your difficulty. And when you remember God’s goodness and faithfulness to you in the past and praise Him for it, your perspective of the situation will begin to change.
As you praise God, He promised, “I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
