The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing – Zephaniah 3:17, KJV

The fact that we are so valuable in God’s eyes still blows me away. He is in our midst because He desires to tabernacle with us. Our Creator wants to have an loving and intimate relationship with us. He is ever present in our daily lives, protecting, guiding, chastising, when necessary and fellow-shipping with us. And not only that but He wants everyone to spend eternity with Him. He wants no one to perish but all to be saved. Our salvation means a great deal to Him.
God rejoices over us with gladness. It is as if He cannot contain Himself. He is exceedingly joyful. And that joy is overflowing when a lost person accepts His wonderful gift of salvation. He celebrates. He rejoices with singing. He is joyful because He loves us so dearly because we have chosen Him, the only true living God to be our God. We’re not deceived by idols, by the lies of Satan and we acknowledge that God did everything. Nothing is left that He could have done to show His love toward us and that is why He will rest in His love.
God’s act of creation made the morning stars sing together and the angels to shout for joy (Job 38:4-7). And God saw everything He made and declared it to be good. Yet it wasn’t His act of creation of man which made Him sing but the redemption of man. Our acceptance of His salvation is what will cause God and all of Heaven to rejoice.
Today, return to the Lord who longs to save you. Let Him rejoice over you with singing.
