Don’t be angry because of those who do evil, do not be jealous because of those who commit iniquity. Indeed, they soon will wither like grass, and like green herbs they will fade away. Trust in he Lord and do good. Dwell in the land and feed on faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; Trust him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as a light, and your justice as the noonday sun – Psalm 37:1-6, ISV

Sometimes you see others getting blessed and you wonder, where’s my blessing? Why is it that this person who’s dishonest, lies, cheats, achieves success and or wealth by unscrupulous means is doing so well when I who am trying to do what is right am struggling? You wonder where your God is.
You begin to envy those who don’t know God or want to know Him because they are thriving. They don’t seem to have any problems, struggles. Life is good for them. You begin to wonder if living a godly life is worth the hardships or difficulties you have had more than your share of. You’re tempted to throw in the towel because being a devout Christian isn’t working for you. You start to wish that your life were be like theirs but you are warned not to envy them.
It’s never a good idea to envy others. Envy has no place in the heart of a child of God. Let go of your envy and anger. Give them to God.
Delight yourself in the Lord. Continue to trust in Him and He will bless you in His time and in His way. He never promised that the life of a Christian would be easy but He did promise that He will never leave you nor forsake you. Commit yourself to God who has always been faithful to you. Continue to do what is good and right and acceptable in His sight. And God will ensure that your goodness and righteousness are seen by others. And as far as those whom you resented and envied are concerned, you will see that their prosperity is temporary and that their ruin is certain.
Don’t be angry. Trust in the Lord.
