Tired of taking care of a family whose ingratitude knew no bounds, she decided that after she finished the housework, the cooking, the laundry and the ironing, she was going to pack her bags and go and stay at her sister’s place. She’d watched her mother waiting hand and foot on her father who never once said a loving nor a kind word to her and she vowed that the same thing wouldn’t happen to her. Her own husband wasn’t at all like her father but still, he took her for granted. Well, let’s see how they fare without me.

There seems to be some hope. Many women feel like this. Well done.

Interesting story. She finished all that stuff and then left. Well told.

Thanks, Bill. Yes, I thought it would be fitting to have her do all those things for which she didn’t receive any thanks for before she left.

Great idea! I hope that she enjoys her break and he sees how much she does for him.

I hope she does too and that she will return to a family who will appreciate her.

It’s too bad she has to be displaced because of their bad habits. Maybe things will work out for the family. Well-told slice of life.

Dear Adele,
Perhaps her vacation will give her husband pause. And don’t we all feel that way at times? Well done.

Dear Rochelle,
Yes, hopefully her vacation will give her the results she is hoping for–appreciation from her family. Yes, we do feel that way at times. Thank you 🙂
Shalom,
Adele

I think we’ve all felt that at one time or another (and, to be fair, sometimes it’s the men who feel that way!)

Methinks she should have left BEFORE doing all the housework. But yes, sometimes actions speak louder than words, especially if her words have fallen on deaf ears 🙂

I guess she couldn’t bring herself not to do the housework and the other chores before leaving. It’s her nature.

Sometimes a statement needs to be made, giving her family time to appreciate her more. Nicely written story.

Yes. some people do not realise how they slip into a habit of being the household lacky. Everyone else just thinks that is how it is and never seem to appreciate what is being done.
If I was her, I would have walked out and left all the housework undone. Maybe they would come running.

I think most people would have left the housework undone but she’s so wired to do the chores that she couldn’t bring herself to leave things undone.
