“This was a mistake. I thought I could do it. Please, let’s go back down.” She was petrified.
“You must be brave and face your fear of flying. You can’t let it continue to control you.”
“Please, I want to go down.”
His expression changed. “If that’s what you really want.”
“It is. I’m sorry.”
He didn’t answer.
They got into his car and drove off.
Minutes later, she glanced at him in surprise. “Aren’t we going to Chez Jules?”
“No. I’m taking you home.”
“But, why?”
“If there’s one thing I can’t tolerate, it’s cowardice.”
“But—”
“We’re through.”

Not very supportive at all. Poor woman. It takes time for people to overcome their fears. and sometimes they never do. Love is patient and understanding. Clearly, there was no love on his part.

A toxic narcissist if there ever was one. Take him off of your speed dial and consider yourself blessed he walked (but know he’ll be back for more games if you let him.) Great story!

Dear Adele,
This certainly shows the depth of his love, doesn’t it? Being one who’s afraid of heights, I took exception to his attitude. She’s better off without him. Well done.
Shalom,
Rochelle

Dear Rochelle,
Clearly he didn’t love her. Many people have a fear of flying or heights or of something else. They need support, love and understanding. You’re right, she’s better off without him. Thanks 🙂
Shalom,
Adele

She’s better without him. I hope she’ll realize it before too much time goes by.

Yes, she is. And she will realize it in time and be thankful that he’s no longer in her life.
