I love The Lord Because…”I love the Lord because he hears and answers my prayers. Because he bends down and listens, I will pray as long as I have breath! How kind the Lord is! How good he is!
So merciful, this God of ours! The Lord protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and then he saved me. Now I can rest again, for the Lord has been so good to me. He has saved me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. And so I walk in the Lord’s presence as I live here on earth!” (Psalm 116:1, 2, 5-9)
There are so many reasons to love God. As the psalmist points out, not only does He hear our prayers, He answers them. This is why Paul encouraged us to pray without ceasing. Even if God doesn’t answer our prayers right away–we should not give up. He answers them in His own time. He doesn’t give us what we ask for because the timing is not right or we are not ready or it isn’t the best thing for us.
He protects us just as a parent protects in whom a child places all of his/her trust. Our trust in God is never misguided. He has always been so good to me. He wipes the tears from my eyes and keeps my feet from stumbling. It is good to walk in the Lord’s presence–there you find peace, love, safety and guidance. For as long as I am here on earth, I will walk with the Lord.
