“You can be sure of this: The Lord has set apart the godly for himself. The Lord will answer when I call to him. Don’t sin by letting anger gain control over you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. Offer proper sacrifices, and trust in the Lord. Many people say, “Who will show us better times?” Let the smile of your face shine on us, Lord. You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and wine.” (Psalm 4:3-7)

It is true. God has set us apart for Himself. We are His peculiar
people–His prized possession. We became His the moment we accepted Jesus as
our Lord and Savior. We were purchased by the blood of Jesus. Moses once
declared to the Israelites, “The Lord has declared today that you are his
people, his own special treasure, just as he promised, and that you must
obey all his commands.” (Deuteronomy 26:18). This applies to us too. We are
the apple of God’s eye. It is wonderful to know that whenever you or I call
Him, He will answer.
Anger makes us do and say things we will regret. It is better to walk away
from a fight or disagreement–cool off–think about it Things might look a
lot better in the morning. What kind of sacrifices can we offer the Lord?
Obedience. He once made it clear that obedience is far more desirable to Him
than sacrifices. Our hearts, time, faith, worship and talents are other
things we can offer God.
God alway shows me better times. When things seem bleak or hopeless, God
always brings light, hope. Yes, Lord, in those dark moments, You let the
the smile of Your face shine on me. You have given me greater joy than I could
ever imagine. You answer me when I call to you and give me relief from my
distress. You always hear my prayer and show me mercy. You are the One can
always turn to when I am hurting. Yes, Lord, You alone can comfort me. I
will lie down in peace and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.
You have shown me Your marvellous kindness. You keep me as the apple of Your
eye and hide me under Your wings. What a marvellous God You are.
Take refuge in the Lord. He will strengthen and defend you in times of
trouble and against those who seek to harm you. Trust in Him at all times.
Tell Him your troubles. He is a marvellous God. There is none other like
Him. Seek Him now with all your heart and He will be found.
