He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay – Matthew 28:6

This morning I read three Gospel accounts of the resurrection of Jesus. The empty tomb meant that Jesus had risen as He had said He would. We can always trust in His Word and in His promises.
When the women saw the empty tomb and the angels told them that Jesus was not there and to go and tell His disciples, they went away with fear and great joy. They ran to give Peter and the others the Good News. And on the way, Jesus met them and told them to, “rejoice.”
We too will rejoice on that glorious day when our Lord returns. The graves of our loved ones will be empty because He will raise them from the dead. Jesus, our risen Saviour has made it possible for us to be reunited with them. On that day, we will cry, “Where, O death is now thy sting? Where’s thy victory, boasting grave?” Death and the grave will be history.
Rejoice, ye believing sinners for Christ, the Lord is risen today!
