Tap, tap, tap.

It was his conscience again.

Tap, tap, tap.

He ignored it.

You need to tell Jenny.

Tell her what?

The truth.  She deserves to know.

It will only upset her.

That’s better than not knowing.

She doesn’t need to know.

She does and you know it.

She might test negative.

And she might not.  Either way, you need to tell her.

I’ll think about it.

There’s nothing to think about!

“Joe!”  Jenny stood in the doorway.  “I tested positive.” She broke down.

His heart sank.   “Jenny, I’m so sorry.”
