The dead do not praise the LORD, Nor any who go down into silence – Psalm 115:17
Yesterday, while my husband and I were singing hymns before the close of our weekly Sabbath worship, it hit me that when you are dead you can’t praise God anymore. And I was so thankful that I’m still alive to be able to sing of His love and His goodness.
Perhaps this is why we are encouraged to praise God and give Him thanks. David declared, “While I live I will praise the LORD;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being” (Psalm 146:2).
While we still have life, we ought to praise our God.
